India’s top tennis player Sania Mirza Malik, entered into the pre-quarterfinals of the Family Circle WTA event which is currently going on in Charleston, USA.
Sania Mirza defeated Vania King of USA in 6-7(6), 6-4, 6-2 sets and secure a position in pre-quarterfinals.
Now Sania Mirza may fight with Marion Bartoli of France or Sabine Lisicki of German to secure a position in the last eight.
Today, 6th April 2011, Sania Mirza and Elena VESNINA (RUS) will meet Liezel HUBER and Lisa RAYMOND of USA in the doubles match.
Earlier Sania Mirza beaten Olga Savchuk of Ukrain in 6-3, 6-3 sets to qualify for this $721,000 event.

Family Circle WTA tennis tournament started on 1973 and in 2001 it was moved to Charleston. This is considered to be a premier WAT tournament for women.
