Sania Mirza is out from the US Open 2010 grand slam Women’s singles from the 2nd Round. Sania Mirza was defeated by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in 6-2, 6-4 sets.
Earlier Sania Mirza defeated Portugal’s Michelle Larcher de Brito in 6-3, 6-2 sets.
Now Sania Mirza is active in Women’s doubles and Vera Dushevian of Russia and Sania will be meeting Alisa Kleybanova and Ekaterina Makarova of Russia.
The Sania Mirza exit from US Open Women’s singles is not unexpected as she had already played four matches in the week.
She had to play as many three qualifying matches to enter in to the US Open 2010 because of her poor ranking.
It was the first time after 2005, she had to play a qualifying game for this US Open.
Now lets hope that she will do some kind of wonders in the doubles tournament.
